Cardamom Rose Hot Chocolate (paleo, dairy-free, vegan)
What to source:
2 cardamom pods
2 cups full-fat coconut milk
⅓ cup crushed or finely chopped Hu chocolate
2-3 tbsp raw cacao powder
20g grass-fed collagen peptides (remove if animal-avoidant)
1 tbsp rosewater
dried rose petals for garnishing
1-2 tsp raw local unfiltered honey, optional
What to do:
Break the cardamom pods release the seeds into a saucepan. Pour the milk in the saucepan and place over medium heat to a light simmer (tend the milk to prevent burning).
Once the milk is warm, add the crushed chocolate and raw cocoa powder. Whisk until all ingredients are melted and integrated.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the rosewater. If you are vegan and wanting extra sweetness, add maple syrup or blend with dried dates.
Pour into your favorite cup, garnish with crushed rose petals, and share with a loved one 💕
Health Tip - When choosing coconut milk, be sure to go for the least refined, least processed product available. Choose BPA-free canned coconut milk without any added gums. My personal favorite is Native Forest Simple.
