Cardamom Rose Hot Chocolate (paleo, dairy-free, vegan)

rosehotchocolate.jpg

What to source:

  • 2 cardamom pods

  • 2 cups full-fat coconut milk

  • ⅓ cup crushed or finely chopped Hu chocolate

  • 2-3 tbsp raw cacao powder

  • 20g grass-fed collagen peptides (remove if animal-avoidant)

  • 1 tbsp rosewater

  • dried rose petals for garnishing

  • 1-2 tsp raw local unfiltered honey, optional

What to do:

  • Break the cardamom pods release the seeds into a saucepan. Pour the milk in the saucepan and place over medium heat to a light simmer (tend the milk to prevent burning).

  • Once the milk is warm, add the crushed chocolate and raw cocoa powder. Whisk until all ingredients are melted and integrated.

  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the rosewater. If you are vegan and wanting extra sweetness, add maple syrup or blend with dried dates.

  • Pour into your favorite cup, garnish with crushed rose petals, and share with a loved one 💕

Health Tip - When choosing coconut milk, be sure to go for the least refined, least processed product available. Choose BPA-free canned coconut milk without any added gums. My personal favorite is Native Forest Simple.
